I am seeking prayers for my nephew, Andrew (age 54) who is having mental health and emotional issues. His wife died from cancer not long ago and he is heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with her passing. His grieving is being made more difficult due to the hostility being directed towards him by his late wife’s sisters and her son who Andrew brought up and loved as though he was his own flesh and blood. Andrew was a very faithful and loving husband, a good stepfather and there were no problems in the marriage, and he has done nothing to deserve such abhorrent behaviour from any of her family. The constant abuse and their deliberate nasty actions are hindering his ability to grieve properly and are having a serious impact on his mental health as well as his emotional wellbeing. Last week it all became too much for him to bear, and he broke down and ended up in the Mental Health Unit of his local hospital. It breaks my heart to see him suffering such mental anguish from the undeserved and unnecessary hateful actions being directed at him and I’m worried for his mental and emotional health in the long term. I would be extremely grateful if you would pray that God will heal Andrew both mentally and emotionally and would also strengthen him and help him to deal with the hurt he is experiencing in the current circumstances.
